Introductory AI Growth Plan · Three places before Christmas
Where would AI make a real difference in your business?
I’ll find out and write you the plan, at no cost. One day on site, conversations with you and three of your team, and a written plan showing what to do first, what it costs and what it could return.

You know AI could help. You haven’t had time to work out where.
You own and run a business of 10 to 50 people. Running the place and looking after customers leaves no time to sort out where AI fits. Perhaps:
- You still price new work yourself, often in the evenings.
- Enquiries arrive faster than they get quoted, and some never get an answer.
- Some of your team already use ChatGPT or Copilot, and there are no rules for it.
- You’ve been shown AI software and couldn’t tell whether it would pay for itself.
- Everything still comes back to you.
If any of that sounds familiar, the plan will show you where to start, what it’s worth and what to leave alone for now.
Why work with me
I’ve sat in your chair.
I’ve owned and run businesses for more than 20 years, with all the pressure that comes with making payroll and finding the next customer. That includes 17 years building a B2B software company, so I’ve seen technology from both sides: buying it and selling it.
That experience goes into your plan. I know how to find the problems that matter most to a business, and I’m realistic about what technology and AI can and can’t do. You’ll get recommendations I’d be comfortable making with my own money.

What you get · value £2,500
A written plan to grow sales, work more efficiently and increase profit.
The AI Growth Plan report identifies how your business can use AI to grow sales, boost efficiency and increase profits. It includes:
Where work waits
The one stage that limits how much work you can win or get out of the door, found from your team’s answers and your own figures.
Your priority projects, in order
Sorted into quick wins and bigger projects.
What each one is worth
Set-up cost, running cost, likely return and payback, in hours saved, extra sales and profit, with the working shown.
Which AI tools to use
Often ones you already pay for. I have no deals with software companies, so the recommendation rests on your business alone.
Simple rules for using AI safely
Including what can go into an AI tool and what can’t, such as customer drawings under an NDA.
What not to do yet
And what would change that view.
Your next 30 days
With a named person for each step.
A walkthrough
We go through the report together and agree what to do first.
The plan is yours to use however you like. There’s no obligation to work with me afterwards.
Note that for the no-cost version I limit the interviews to the owner plus three members of staff, which may mean some aspects of the business are not covered. I’m happy to discuss costs for a broader review should you want one.
How it works
About half a day of your time, over around three weeks.
The whole process needs about half a day of your time, plus under an hour from each of three team members.
A short call
We check it’s a good fit and fix a date for the site day.
We agree it in writing
One page covering what you get and what I ask in return. It also confirms this is not a staffing review, and that nothing anyone says is attributed to them by name.
You send me some background information
I’ll send you a list of information that will add value to our interviews, for example your enquiry log, how busy your machines are, or a recent quote. If something isn’t to hand, I’ll work without it.
A day on site
I talk to you first, then three of your team for 30 to 45 minutes each. We choose them together so they follow the work from enquiry to invoice.
I compile the report, within 7 working days
The same sections and the same level of care as my full plan.
The walkthrough
We go through the plan together and agree the first steps.
Why it’s free
A fair exchange.
The Growth Plans are a new service for me, and I want to be able to show owners real results from them. Offering three at no cost gives you as a business owner a low-risk way of getting valuable business advice, and I get results from three real businesses. I hope that is a fair win-win.
In return for the no-cost report, I ask for:
- A short written testimonial, if you found the plan useful.
- Permission to use anonymised figures and findings in a case study. Your business is named only if you agree.
- A 15-minute honest debrief on what was useful and what wasn’t.
- An introduction to one other business owner, if you’re happy to.
No fee, no follow-on contract, and no pressure to buy anything afterwards.
Is it right for you?
It’s a good fit if:
- You own and run the business, and it employs 10 to 50 people.
- You’re a manufacturer, or an engineering, distribution or trade business with a steady flow of enquiries, quotes and jobs.
- You’re within reasonable travel of Hull.
- You can give me the site day, the walkthrough and the small information request, and you’re happy for three of your team to talk to me openly.
It probably isn’t for you if
You want software installed next week without a plan, or you’d rather your team weren’t interviewed. The people doing the work know where the time really goes, so their answers are what make the plan worth having.
What the no-cost version leaves out
It hears from four people, where a full plan for a 30-person business would hear from eight to ten. Some roles and stages won’t be covered, and the figures carry wider ranges. The report names exactly what it didn’t reach and where more evidence would narrow the numbers, so you’ll know what a fuller picture would add.
A fictional example
Want to see what you’d get first?
I’ve written a full sample plan for Brindlecroft, a fictional 31-person machine shop. In that invented example, the plan traced lost sales to one queue: new quotes waiting for the owner’s evenings. Fixing it was worth about £150k a year in extra sales, with no new machine. Treat it as an example of the report, not a forecast for your business.
Ask and I’ll send you the short version.
Three places, before Christmas
I can do three of these properly this year.
Site days run from mid-November to early December, and every walkthrough is finished before Christmas. Once the three are taken, the offer closes.
